In 1996, Calliope Press published Maude (1883-1993): She Grew up with the Country, a biography/memoir that parallels Maude's life as she lived to be 110 with the emergence of modernized America. Now in its third printing, and a favorite with book discussion groups, Maude has been adopted by some colleges as a supplemental history text to put a human face on history. The author Mardo Williams, former Columbus Dispatch columnist (who, at age 88, wrote this book about his mother) went on to win the Ohioana Library Award in 2001, their first posthumous award, for his body of work as author and journalist.

Susie Mantell's award-winning, bestselling stress relief audiobook on CD/Cassette, Your Present: A Half-Hour of Peace (Relax Intuit) was awarded among "Best Audios" by Publishers Weekly. Your Present: A Half-Hour of Peace has been a bestseller on Amazon.com and New Leaf for several years.

Judy Reiser is the author of 3 humorous / human interest books which have been well-reviewed and have received quite a bit of media attention. Reiser self-published a revised edition of her first book, "And I Thought I Was Crazy! Quirks, Idiosyncrasies and Meshugaas", which was originally published by Simon & Schuster. (The sequel, "Admit It, You're Crazy! Quirks, Idiosyncrasies and Irrational Behavior" was published in April 2005 by Andrews McMeel. Reiser's third book, "In a Cell Phone Minute" was published by Andrews McMeel in September 2005.)

The First Jews In the New World by Joseph Heckelman was published in both soft and hardcovers by Jay Street Publishers. It now has a second edition and is still selling. 2005 was the 350 anniversary of Jews arriving in the New World.

Arts & Healthcare Press published Beyond Katrina: Poetry, Quotes and Images From Those Affected by the Gulf Coast Hurricanes of 2005. This is Arts & Healthcare Press's first publication and they have almost sold out of their first printing since the book came out in November. All proceeds from the sale of the book go to help hurricane victims rebuild.

Deborah Ribis is the author of the book, Get Back on Your Feet: What Every Injured and Ill Person Needs to Know, published by Women In Print, ISBN 0974610917. Deborah writes bimonthly columns for the Press Republican, PULSE magazine, Healthcare Advocacy. She also writes a bimonthly column for the Senior Sentinel, Healthcare Advocacy for Seniors.
