Thursday, September 29th, 2005 6pm As part of an ongoing Small Press Center series of interviews with preeminent writers, Nora Rawlinson will interview Francisco Goldman, author of three acclaimed novels, the most recent being The Divine Husband (Grove/Atlantic Press). His first novel, The Long Night of White Chickens, was awarded the Sue Kaufman Prize for first fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The Ordinary Seaman, his second novel, was a finalist for the International IMPAC-Dublin Literary Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in Fiction. His previous two novels were both finalists for the PEN/Faulkner Award. He has been the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Fellowship at the New York Public Library Center for Scholars and Writers. Goldman's work has been translated into nine languages. He is currently the Allan K. Smith Professor of English at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Nora Rawlinson is the Vice President, Library Services, Time Warner Book Group.
