Six Things to do for
Small Press Month
 For Bookstores & Libraries

Bookstores and libraries are the lifeblood of small and independent presses around the country, supporting independent publishers fifty-two weeks of the year. We hope that in addition to your year-round support of independent publishers, you might be able to have some special events and displays on small presses during Small Press Month, March 2003.

  1. Have a special Small Press Month exhibit in your store or library during March. Display colorful Small Press Month posters, which you can obtain from: Small Press Month Coordinator, Publishers Marketing Association, 627 Aviation Way, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Phone 310/372-2732. To order, fill out the form below with the quantity you would like.
  2. Display a selection of Small Press titles in your bookstore or library, perhaps focusing on local independent presses.
  3. Bookstores could offer a discount off Small Press titles this month.
  4. Ask a local small press publisher to give a talk. One always popular topic is, "How to Get Published by a Small Press."
  5. Include Small Press Month information on your website.
  6. Organize readings or signings by local small press authors during the month of March.
